On July 20th 1969,Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon. Neil Armstrong and his partner Buzz Aldrin spent more than 2 hours on the moon, collected rock samples and conducting experiments. Following the trip, Neil Armstrong and the other astronauts were put into quarantine for 3 weeks.

Despite being the first man to walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong also had many other characteristics he contributed to american society. Armstrong served as Vice chairman for the Challenger accident that occurred and became a professor at the University of Cincinnati where he taught aerospace engineering.
